Web Developer (PHP)

Requirements:

• 5–7 years of professional web development experience
• Strong command of the LAMP/LEMP stack
• Solid front-end skills with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience designing, building, and using REST APIs
• Familiarity with Git and modern source-control workflows
• Proven ability to own features from specification through deployment and maintenance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical decisions to non-engineers
• A bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not required; equivalent experience is acceptable
• Node.js development experience is a plus
• Experience integrating web services with desktop applications is a plus
• Print industry, e-commerce, or franchise-systems experience is a plus
• Provide a resume and either a portfolio, a GitHub/GitLab profile, code samples, or a written description of relevant work and individual contributions when work is confidential or behind authentication

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, test, and maintain PHP/MariaDB web applications and supporting services
• Extend and document our custom API connecting proprietary desktop applications with web services
• Diagnose and resolve production issues
• Work with our development team to improve existing websites and deliver new initiatives
• Make informed technical trade-offs and explain them to non-technical stakeholders as needed

We develop and operate proprietary software supporting our franchise network, including customer-facing web properties and desktop applications. This is a full-time, mid-level web developer role based in person in Farmingdale, New York; we require office attendance Monday through Friday and do not offer remote or hybrid arrangements. The schedule is an eight-hour weekday shift. Compensation is $75,000–$85,000, depending on experience, plus a performance-based bonus.
