Requirements:
- 7+ years of professional full-stack development experience, including 3+ years using React or a comparable modern SPA framework with a .NET backend.
- Demonstrated ownership of at least one enterprise source-control migration to a Git-based platform, including design of the target repository and branching architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 GCC or GCC High and its security and compliance differences from commercial M365.
- Experience implementing at least one AI-powered enterprise search solution, such as Azure AI Search or Copilot/Graph connectors.
- Direct experience reading, maintaining, or migrating VB.NET or classic ASP.NET/WebForms code.
- Strong SQL Server skills, including schema design, performance tuning, and migration scripting.
- Willingness to complete a technical assessment involving a scoped architecture and live discussion of a comparable migration or refactoring scenario.
- Must currently live in, or be willing to relocate at personal expense to, the New York City, Boston, Washington, DC, Chicago, Los Angeles, or San Francisco metro area; regular onsite or hybrid presence is required. Remote-only applicants will not be deprioritized.
- We cannot sponsor work visas.
- Law firm experience is desirable.
- Nice to have: experience with Boomi or another iPaaS platform; consulting or professional-services experience across multiple concurrent clients; familiarity with compliance constraints in legal, financial services, or another regulated industry.
Responsibilities:
- Lead three modernization initiatives: enterprise source-control migration, SharePoint-to-GCC cloud migration with AI-powered search, and legacy application refactoring.
- Design and document the target GitHub architecture, including repository structure and ownership, branching strategy, environment promotion flow, required-reviewer policies, secrets management, and CI/CD pipelines; produce an architecture document and migration runbook.
- Migrate SharePoint content, data, permissions, and workflows into GCP Government/GCC Assured Workloads, addressing security-model differences, permission inheritance, compliance boundaries, IAM, FedRAMP/NIST controls, and GCP storage architecture.
- Evaluate and implement an AI-powered search solution to replace native SharePoint search, using Google Vertex AI Search/Enterprise Search or an equivalent approach, including vector search, semantic query processing, and RAG architectures.
- Analyze and refactor legacy monolithic applications built with older .NET Framework technologies such as Web Forms, WCF, and MVC, as well as VB.NET/VB6.
- Re-architect legacy application logic as modular, high-performance .NET 8+ APIs with React frontends.
