Application Developer

Requirements:

• We require a BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, IT, GIScience, or a related field that includes computer programming and application development.
• We require at least 5 years of experience developing software systems in the IC.
• We require at least 1 year of experience using varied programming languages and following industry best practices for code documentation and knowledge management on software development teams.
• We require at least 1 year of experience in artificial intelligence (AI) development.
• We prefer experience in software development, IT service coordination, or systems administration.
• We prefer experience coordinating with software development teams across the IC.
• We prefer experience working on multidisciplinary technical teams.
• We prefer experience designing, building, testing, and deploying scalable machine learning models and AI-driven platforms.

Responsibilities:

• We develop applications and tools, automate processes, and integrate enterprise platforms to strengthen the Sponsors analysis, data curation, and data visualization capabilities.
• We create scripts that support target teams routine work, including converting and translating file formats.
• We apply data science principles and database management techniques to help target teams process, exploit, and store large, disparate data sets, and connect analysis with other relevant tools available to the Sponsor.
• We build custom programs for 2D and 3D environments, including Unity on-screen gaming and virtual reality headset applications, as well as tools in the ArcGIS suite.
• We coordinate with application development teams across the Sponsors organization to identify existing tools or code that can help meet requirements.
