Application Developer, Data & Integrations

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in application development, software development, systems integration, or a related technical field
• Strong hands-on experience with C#/.NET and SQL; Microsoft SQL Server experience is preferred
• Experience working with legacy applications and codebases, and with software development lifecycle practices including requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting
• Experience with scripting, data extraction and transformation, system integration, and troubleshooting application, data, and integration issues
• Working knowledge of REST APIs and integration concepts, plus experience processing structured data such as JSON, XML, CSV, and flat files
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical users to understand business needs and develop practical solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience developing and maintaining scripts in one or more languages such as Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, VBScript, or shell scripting
• Familiarity with relational databases and data modeling concepts
• Preferred: experience with Python, API integrations, reporting or business intelligence, DVI laboratory management software, optical laboratory or manufacturing operations, healthcare technology, ETL, data warehousing, Snowflake, source control, software development best practices, or cloud-based applications and services

Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, maintain, troubleshoot, and extend C#/.NET applications, tools, and legacy code
• Work with business and operations users to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Participate in solution design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing support
• Build applications and workflows that improve operational efficiency, data visibility, accuracy, and automation
• Develop SQL queries, stored procedures, and database solutions; extract, transform, validate, and analyze data
• Create recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, KPIs, and visualizations, and reconcile data across systems to improve integrity and reporting accuracy
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between DVI and external systems, including REST APIs and data exchanges
• Process structured data and support automated file transfers, data synchronization, and related integration processes
• Learn and support DVI, the laboratory management platform, including its configurations, pricing tables, product catalogs, and translation tables
• Resolve application and data issues in coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders, and provide functional and technical support
• Document system configurations, workflows, technical solutions, and operational procedures
• Identify and implement improvements to applications, workflows, reporting, and operational processes
• Use AI tools across the development lifecycle and validate generated code for technical soundness, security, maintainability, and alignment with business needs
• Evaluate emerging technologies that can improve development productivity and operational efficiency
• Perform other related duties as assigned

We are partnering with a fast-growing business-services organization on a newly created role embedded with and supporting the clients optical manufacturing and laboratory operations in Pittsburgh or Phoenix. The specialist will work closely with manufacturing and laboratory teams; the position is approximately 80% hands-on development, with the remainder focused on understanding business needs, troubleshooting, and operational technology support.
