Azure Platform Lead - Engineering Manager

Requirements:

• Ability to attain DHS EOD
• Bachelors degree with 10 years of experience, associate degree with 12 years, masters degree with 7 years, or 16 years of relevant experience
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT environments, including cloud and infrastructure
• 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams in large enterprise environments
• Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and operating Azure platforms
• Experience managing teams supporting Azure, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and Infrastructure as Code environments
• Experience leading teams through onboarding, transitions, and organizational change
• Proven ability to manage performance and promote team accountability
• Experience in high-visibility environments with compliance requirements and structured processes
• Ability to balance technical leadership with people management
• Experience supporting federal or regulated environments
• Leadership-first approach focused on team performance, with strong communication, responsiveness, organization, prioritization, and accountability

Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and develop engineers responsible for Azure infrastructure, AVD, and platform services
• Establish regular team practices, including one-on-ones, performance management, and clear priorities
• Promote accountability, ownership, and collaboration across the team, including among senior engineers
• Ensure consistent use of operational processes, emphasizing risk management and reliability
• Manage onboarding, transitions, and workload distribution
• Keep leadership informed about team status, risks, and priorities through clear, proactive communication
• Coordinate with engineering, security, and network teams to align execution
• Turn architectural direction into actionable plans with clear ownership and follow-through
• Delegate technical work appropriately while maintaining visibility into delivery
