C/C++ Software Engineer (AHT)

Requirements:

• For Level 3: A bachelors degree in a STEM discipline and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a masters degree in a STEM discipline and at least 3 years of experience.
• For Level 4: A bachelors degree in a STEM discipline and at least 8 years of experience, or a masters degree in a STEM discipline and at least 6 years of experience.
• Professional experience developing C/C++ software for Windows 10 or 11 and Linux, preferably CentOS.
• Experience operating oscilloscopes, power meters, power supplies, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
• Experience with MIL-STD-1553, TCP/IP, serial, and Ethernet communication protocols.
• Experience deriving software requirements from system requirements and working with SRSs, ICDs, and CDRLs.
• A current U.S. Government DoW Secret clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required for positions requiring government clearance.
• Preferred: Advanced system troubleshooting and root-cause analysis experience; experience in a laboratory or production-floor environment; ability to work independently with limited oversight; familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket; experience with DOORS or EPLM; experience with hardware programmers such as JTAG and setting up test equipment for software development; experience with other object-oriented languages such as C#; and embedded-systems design experience with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.

We are seeking a C/C++ Software Engineer at Level 3 or 4 to join our Advanced Weapons divisions multidisciplinary engineering team at Northrop Grumman. Our teams develop next-generation solutions to protect technology for the nations warfighters. This role is full-time and on-site in Northridge, California; remote work is not available. Travel is approximately 10%, and relocation assistance may be available but is not guaranteed. The stated salary ranges are $114,000–$171,000 for Level 3 and $142,200–$213,400 for Level 4; offers may vary based on factors including experience, education, skills, responsibilities, and market conditions. Depending on the position, compensation may also include overtime, shift differentials, and discretionary bonuses.
