  • 5+ years of experience developing and deploying C# Windows applications in a .NET environment.
  • Hands-on experience developing software that interfaces directly with industrial hardware, such as sensors, motors, drives, data acquisition devices, or instrumentation.
  • Experience building PC-based control applications that manage real-time I/O, device communications, and control logic.
  • Strong software fundamentals, including object-oriented design, application architecture, debugging, and version control.
  • Comfortable working on the plant floor with engineers and technicians to understand machine behavior and develop practical software.
  • Ability to use AI tools and code generation efficiently while taking full responsibility for the resulting work.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Preferred: Experience with SQL or other databases, GitHub or similar source control platforms, Python, industrial controls platforms such as Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, Ignition, robotics, or machine vision, and the ability to interpret electrical schematics.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy C# Windows applications for industrial machinery, connecting directly to sensors, motors, drives, data acquisition devices, and other controls hardware.
  • Build and support software in which the PC is the systems primary controller, handling real-time I/O and device communications.
  • Work with controls engineers to understand machine behavior, hardware interfaces, and operator workflows, then translate those needs into maintainable software.
  • Deploy and troubleshoot applications during machine debugging, runoff, and customer Factory Acceptance Testing.
  • Maintain and improve existing software tools and code libraries, using sound source control and documentation practices.
  • Collaborate with the controls team to identify software improvements to machine reliability, data visibility, and troubleshooting.
  • Travel approximately 10% to support customer startups and project implementation.
  • Deliver reliable, well-structured applications that operators and engineers can use, communicate reliably with controlled hardware, and support extended test runs.
  • Communicate clearly with engineering, technician, and project teams, and continually improve software libraries, tools, and development practices.
