Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering or architecture, including at least 4 years designing Google Cloud Platform data platforms
  • Expert knowledge of BigQuery modeling, partitioning, clustering, performance optimization, cost and slot management, dimensional modeling, slowly changing dimensions, and layered data architecture
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform ingestion and processing services, including GCS, Dataflow, Datastream, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, and Cloud Run or Cloud Functions
  • Ability to ingest data from REST APIs, spreadsheets, and semi-structured or HTML sources
  • Strong PostgreSQL expertise, including change data capture, logical replication, and terabyte-scale migrations; strong SQL skills and experience with Dataform or dbt
  • Experience designing Power BI semantic models, choosing Import, DirectQuery, or Composite modes, and working with gateways, incremental refresh, row-level security, and BigQuery performance
  • Knowledge of IAM, VPC Service Controls, KMS/CMEK, policy tags, and Dataplex
  • Experience with Terraform, CI/CD, architecture documentation, high availability and disaster recovery, and stakeholder workshops
  • Preferred: Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Data Engineer certification, Python skills, data observability experience, streaming analytics knowledge, or telecommunications domain exposure

Responsibilities:

  • Assess the clients data landscape and design an end-to-end Google Cloud Platform data platform spanning ingestion, GCS landing, BigQuery, transformations, semantic models, and Power BI
  • Define scalable architecture, security, governance, cost controls, and delivery standards
  • Present architectural trade-offs and guide implementation
