Data Scientist - Epic Model Monitoring

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
• Epic Cogito Fundamentals certification, or ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire
• At least 2 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a similar role
• Intellectual curiosity, proactive problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently in an evolving, ambiguous environment
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences
• Preferred: Advanced degree in statistics, applied mathematics, predictive analytics, computer science, operations research, or a related quantitative discipline
• Preferred: Hands-on experience navigating, querying, and working in Epic Cogito and Nebula
• Preferred: High proficiency in Python and SQL
• Preferred: At least 2 years of experience with Epic
• Preferred: Familiarity with Snowflake or other data lakehouse platforms
• Preferred: Familiarity with or interest in healthcare

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated monitoring systems for predictive and generative AI models running in Epic Nebula and tracked through Cogito dashboards
• Collect, clean, and preprocess data from Epic Chronicles, Caboodle, and the enterprise data lakehouse for analysis and model validation
• Contribute to the full analytics product lifecycle, from proof-of-concept configuration and testing through production deployment and validation
• Document work and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate with peers, IT experts, and clinical teams to design and develop analytics products and integrate model outputs into clinical workflows
• Lead efforts to understand and improve Epic-based AI monitoring, develop monitoring frameworks, and rapidly prototype features that enhance model accuracy, reliability, and user experience

The hybrid role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; local travel to other corporate sites may be needed. The hourly pay range is $34.41–$53.34, based in part on expertise and experience.
