Database Administrator

Requirements:

• Strong interpersonal, customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to support and troubleshoot server systems
• Initiative, sound judgment, business awareness, and strong conceptual and analytical abilities
• Thorough knowledge of current technology solutions for the internet, handheld devices, personal computers, and networks
• Proven ability to collaborate, share knowledge, support colleagues, and communicate across teams and departments
• Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification
• CompTIA Network+ certification
• Nutanix Certified Professional – Multi-cloud Infrastructure (NCP-MCI)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
• At least 3 years of IT experience, including expertise supporting multiple enterprise-class systems and environments
• 3–5 years of experience maintaining routers, switches, or wireless devices
• Experience deploying and maintaining Microsoft operating systems, preferably versions 2016–2022
• Experience deploying and maintaining Linux operating systems, preferably RHEL 8
• Experience supporting and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL

Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain enterprise server systems, inspecting equipment and proactively reviewing application logs and system consoles
• Investigate warnings, errors, and reported issues; identify root causes, develop action plans, take part in peer reviews, and document, test, and implement solutions
• Revise and streamline processes as needed
• Respond to requests and incidents in the problem management system queue
• Coordinate support and repair work with vendors and on-site personnel
• Implement server systems in accordance with documented plans and change-control processes
• Mentor and train technicians and encourage knowledge-sharing
• Create process documentation and keep existing materials current
• Recommend improvements to support services
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with other departments, groups, and personnel
• Design and plan project implementations based on customer requirements, best practices, and vendor recommendations
• Provide project status updates at least every two weeks
• Meet deadlines and schedules, coordinate resources and meetings effectively, and work respectfully with others
• Provide configuration, technical support, and troubleshooting for enterprise-class servers that host packaged and custom applications
• Perform other job-related duties as required and work toward established performance goals or targets
