Equity Research Database Associate

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree and 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with a clear interest in financial services technology and emerging technologies through education or prior work
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Salesforce, Power BI, PowerQuery, CoPilot, Python, and C#
• Understanding of Capital Markets products
• Knowledge of BMO Capital Markets financial systems is an asset
• Familiarity with BlueMatrix and Tier1 is an asset
• Understanding of data science and financial accounting concepts
• Self-directed, proactive, and accountable, with a can-do mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent presentation, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, while also identifying broader conclusions and key business issues in complex or ambiguous situations
• Bachelors degree required

Responsibilities:

• Input, extract, and manipulate data from client databases or other source systems to support publishing and reporting needs
• Develop and maintain reporting for Global Equity Products
• Understand the business rationale behind requests and deliver work accordingly
• Manage client expectations, meet agreed deadlines, and provide timely, accurate output with strong service orientation
• Review data integrity, investigate issues, and partner with Operations and Technology to correct problems at the source
• Participate in project and team meetings and collaborate with colleagues and other departments to clarify requirements
• Learn and apply advanced analytics to address key business challenges
• Use knowledge of Capital Markets businesses, products, and risk measures to provide insight and analysis in support of line-of-business performance and strategic goals
• Perform detailed financial and business analysis to support Capital Markets
• Reuse existing reports and business metrics where possible to reduce unnecessary work
• Evaluate current reporting practices and introduce process improvements and automation in database and reporting
