Frontend Developer

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience designing, testing, and implementing applications with React or a comparable framework
• Solid understanding of UI design patterns, principles, and best practices
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and web services
• Experience with frontend build tools and dependency management, such as NPM, Yarn, RsBuild, or Lerna
• Experience writing automated tests with tools such as Vitest, React Testing Library, or Jest
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with UX/UI designers, backend developers, Product, and QA
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and best practices
• Preferred: Proficiency in TypeScript and familiarity with JSDoc documentation practices
• Preferred: Experience with React Hook Form or similar form management libraries
• Preferred: Experience with government or regulatory system integrations, or knowledge of vehicle title and registration processes
• Preferred: Docker containerization experience
• Preferred: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows
• Preferred: Experience with high-availability and fault-tolerant system design

Responsibilities:

• Develop new features and improve code quality with scalability and maintainability in mind
• Translate use cases, user stories, and UI mockups into functional features using responsive design patterns
• Integrate RESTful APIs and web services, appropriately handling loading and error states
• Participate in code reviews and follow and contribute to coding standards
• Create and maintain system and component documentation
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, backend engineers, Product, and QA
• Contribute to technical design discussions and learn from senior team members
• Apply security best practices when handling sensitive government and financial data
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests

We are CHAMP, building innovative cloud-based software for Motor Vehicle Agencies and their stakeholders to improve efficiency, security, and interoperability. Our platforms modernize legacy processes and support scalable digital services. This Frontend Engineer joins our Product Engineering department, reports to the UI Engineering Manager, and works in an Agile team alongside product, design, and backend partners. The role is based in Cleveland, with four days per week onsite and less than 5% travel. Visa sponsorship and relocation are not available. The position offers an annual salary range of $90,000–$110,000, subject to experience, skills, and location; potential annual bonuses; health, dental, and vision insurance; unlimited PTO; an immediately vested 401(k) match; subsidized lunches at our Cleveland headquarters; and a renovated office.
