GitHub Administrator (SC Cleared)

Requirements:

• Active SC Security Clearance (mandatory)
• Hands-on experience administering GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Enterprise Cloud
• Experience providing day-to-day GitHub administration across multiple GitHub organisations
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise administration, access management, user access controls, onboarding, repositories, workflow automation, governance, and Technology Radar standards
• Experience configuring and maintaining GitHub organisation- and enterprise-level settings, policies, and permissions
• Experience supporting integrations with enterprise identity platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID and SSO
• Experience with GitHub REST and GraphQL APIs for administration and automation
• Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash
• Advantageous: SCIM-based user provisioning, GitHub Enterprise security capabilities, Enterprise Managed Users, SAML SSO, audit logs, GitHub Advanced Security, rulesets, organisation policies, infrastructure as code, or Terraform

Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support for GitHub and help improve the scalability of our GitHub operating model
• Address the existing GitHub administration and onboarding backlog
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes
• Clear the current backlog and stabilise the administration process
• Recommend sustainable improvements to GitHub administration
• Support integrations with enterprise identity platforms and use GitHub APIs for administration and automation

We are seeking a GitHub Administrator with automation experience for a large-scale Government project as part of a leading global IT transformation. This is a six-month contract based in Leeds, with hybrid working from home and occasional travel to our Leeds office, typically once or twice a month. The role is expected to start in October or November 2026 and pays £450–£500 per day, inside IR35.
