Java Developer with Kafka

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience building high-speed, data-centric solutions
• 8+ years of experience developing applications with Java; full-stack experience preferred
• Practical experience with data streaming platforms such as Kafka
• Experience with cloud technologies and migrations; AWS foundational services such as VPCs, security groups, EC2, RDS, S3 ACLs, KMS, AWS CLI, and IAM are preferred
• Experience developing and delivering technical solutions using public cloud providers such as Amazon or Google
• Experience writing unit and integration tests with frameworks such as JUnit or Citrus
• Experience working with relational, NoSQL, object-based, and graph databases
• Experience following Git workflows
• Working knowledge of DevOps tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and frameworks such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, or AppDynamics

Responsibilities:

• We support application development for business requirements within the agreed architecture framework and Agile environment
• We analyze requirements, develop and test software, and document quality to ensure proper implementation
• We follow established SDLC procedures and ensure products and services meet quality, functional, architectural, performance, audit, security, and external reporting standards
• We assess application and project risks and recommend quality improvements
• We assist production support by advising on system functionality and providing fixes as needed
• We promptly communicate software delays and defects clearly to appropriate team members and management
• We resolve security vulnerabilities
• We collaborate with business analysts, team leads, developers, architects, and product owners to build scalable, resilient hybrid and cloud-based data solutions for critical financial activities and enterprise transformation
