Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- 5+ years of application or product development experience using the MEAN/MERN stack
- Experience or working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, JSON, XML, HTML, SASS/LESS/CSS, Node.js, Angular, React, microservices, micro-frontend architecture, Apigee API management, REST API-first design, and OpenAPI/Swagger
- Experience or working knowledge of Agile practices and tools, including TDD (JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine, Karma), BDD (Cucumber), pair programming, Scrum, and Kanban
- Experience or working knowledge of DevOps tools and practices, including GitHub, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Selenium, Artifactory, Docker/Kubernetes, Datadog/Splunk, JMeter, and WhiteHat
- Experience or working knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Azure or private cloud, Linux, and VM architectures
- Some AI experience
- NestJS backend services experience is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Lead application design and work with the development team to ensure the design is reflected in deliverables
- Serve as a technical design authority, partnering with the solution architect to implement solutions and provide ongoing design feedback to the project team
- Conduct code reviews and assess detailed designs and code deliverables to ensure quality
- Implement business logic based on business requirements and design specifications, and develop key systems using new open-source technologies
- Provide technical oversight to development teams, investigate software issues with technical staff, and develop specifications to resolve them
- Contribute to system architecture, technology stack and toolset design, and Agile and DevOps practices
- Collaborate with development team members, Product Owners, and business users to deliver business value
- Build and test software solutions, emphasizing code quality, automation, and sound development practices
- Automate code build, unit, functional, security vulnerability, and performance testing, and deployment within the CI/CD pipeline in partnership with engineering colleagues
- Help define and oversee technical standards, policies, and tools with Enterprise Architects
- Mentor developers on technical topics and Agile/DevOps adoption
- Estimate development effort for new initiatives and help establish development teams with stakeholders
- Contribute to the Development Center of Excellence to improve software development and delivery quality and value across the enterprise
