- At least 3 years of hands-on, production-grade Playwright experience; TypeScript is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to design and scale automation frameworks, with strong TypeScript/JavaScript programming skills. Java, Python, or C# familiarity is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, including STLC, Agile testing, risk-based and exploratory testing, the test pyramid, and shift-left/shift-right practices.
- Expert knowledge of Playwright Test Runner, fixtures, projects, parallel execution, worker management, locators, debugging, tracing, API testing, network mocking, and CI integration.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Playwright APIRequest, REST Assured, Postman/Newman, or Supertest, and BDD frameworks such as Cucumber, Playwright-BDD, SpecFlow, or Behave.
- Familiarity with performance, accessibility, visual regression, contract, and mobile testing tools and practices.
- Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or CircleCI; experience with Docker and cloud test grids is also required.
- Understanding of cloud test infrastructure; familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP, and Kubernetes is beneficial.
- Experience with test data and environment management, defect and test management tools, and quality engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, the DOM, JavaScript runtime, browser internals, HTTP, REST, GraphQL, WebSockets, OAuth 2.0, JWT, and SSO.
- Comfortable writing and reading SQL and validating data in relational and NoSQL databases; familiarity with microservices, event-driven architectures, Kafka, or RabbitMQ is beneficial.

- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills, with the ability to make pragmatic, data-informed trade-offs.
- Experience in insurance, BFSI, healthcare, or another regulated domain is an advantage.
- Beneficial additional experience includes security testing, threat modeling, AI-assisted testing, open-source QA contributions, or relevant QA, Agile, AWS, or Azure certifications.
- Candidates must provide valid documents and proof of identity.
Responsibilities:
- Define and own end-to-end test strategy across functional, regression, integration, API, performance, and accessibility testing.
- Set release quality gates, KPIs, and SLAs, and report quality metrics to engineering and product leaders.
- Promote shift-left practices, in-sprint automation, risk-based testing, and early defect prevention.
- Assess and select tools, frameworks, and processes to improve test efficiency and coverage.
- Design, build, and maintain a scalable, reusable Playwright automation framework using TypeScript or JavaScript, applying maintainable patterns such as Page Object Model, Screenplay, or fixtures.
- Implement parallel, cross-browser, and cross-device testing, along with API, data-driven, BDD, visual regression, accessibility, and contract testing as appropriate.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines; configure test environments, Docker-based execution, and cloud test grids.
- Improve test diagnostics and reliability through retries, flaky-test detection, test sharding, trace/video/screenshot capture, and reporting dashboards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop QA and SDET engineers; participate in hiring, review automation code, uphold standards, and coach manual testers in automation practices.
- Represent QA in Agile/Scrum planning, refinement, and retrospective ceremonies.
- Work with developers, product managers, designers, DevOps, performance, security, and SRE teams to embed quality throughout delivery and address non-functional testing needs.
- Join design and architecture reviews to identify testability concerns early.
- Lead root-cause analysis of production incidents and apply findings to improve test coverage.
