Mainframe Developer

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience working with Unisys mainframes
• COBOL programming experience
• Experience with the DMS 1100 hierarchical database
• Functional knowledge of retail banking
• Knowledge of batch processes and job scheduling
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• C language experience (desirable)
• Good communication and leadership abilities (desirable)
• A learning attitude (desirable)

Responsibilities:

• Develop and build software programs using Unisys COBOL and DMS 1100
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Analyze issues in running software and make changes to resolve them
• Communicate findings and impacts on interfacing systems to stakeholders clearly and concisely
• Work in accordance with established Agile ways of working and provide updates in daily stand-ups and other forums as required
• Support system and integration test cycles
