Requirements:
- At least 2 years of hands-on MarkLogic Server experience, including developing queries, importing and exporting data, writing code, and working with large datasets.
- Experience with MarkLogic indexing, search configuration, and query optimization.
- Background in database engineering or data platform engineering.
- Experience with XQuery and/or Server-Side JavaScript (SJS).
- Experience with data ingestion frameworks such as MLCP, Data Hub Framework, or an equivalent.
- Experience implementing or supporting security controls, including RBAC, element-level permissions, and encryption.
- Experience with other NoSQL databases, such as Hadoop or MongoDB.
- Working knowledge of NoSQL and document-oriented database design and MarkLogic platform capabilities.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve database performance and reliability issues.
- Careful approach to schema design, query logic, change management, and compliance documentation.
- Ability to collaborate with development, operations, and compliance teams and communicate technical concepts clearly to varied audiences.
- Proactive approach to database security, audit readiness, and compliance with industry standards.
- Adaptability in a changing technical environment with evolving priorities.
- Preferred: Experience with document-oriented, metadata-driven, or semantic data platforms; CI/CD environments and automated deployment pipelines; REST APIs, search APIs, and MarkLogic integration patterns; SOC 2 or ISO 27001 compliance frameworks; cloud-hosted MarkLogic deployments on Azure; or relational databases and hybrid architectures.
Responsibilities:
- Independently research and develop complex queries and datasets as a mid-level MarkLogic engineer.
