Network Engineer

Requirements:

• We require an on-site presence in St. Peters, MO, five days per week.
• We prefer a bachelors degree in Information Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• We expect at least 4 years of networking experience and 2+ years in cloud engineering.
• We need hands-on expertise with networking hardware such as switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN appliances, including Cisco ASA/Firepower, Nexus, Catalyst, and Check Point.
• We look for strong operational troubleshooting ability and the capacity to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
• We require solid knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including IPsec, network segmentation, VRFs, switching, VLANs, and load balancers.
• We need familiarity with identity and access systems such as Microsoft ADFS, MFA, Active Directory integration with cloud applications, and Azure AD.
• We value current knowledge of DevOps, containerization, security, and observability practices.
• We require scripting skills for automation and infrastructure-as-code workflows using Azure Resource Manager, Terraform, Azure PowerShell, and Azure CLI.
• We expect understanding of SNMP monitoring and device management, including v2c vs. v3, community strings, traps/polling, and MIBs/OIDs.
• We require strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to different audiences.

Responsibilities:

• We design and implement new network solutions and improve the performance and efficiency of existing networks.
• We install, configure, and support network equipment such as routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS, and DHCP systems.
• We configure firewalls, routing, and switching to strengthen network efficiency and security.
• We manage SSL/TLS certificates, including issuance, installation, and renewal.
• We administer Web Application Firewalls (WAFs).
• We monitor network performance continuously and troubleshoot issues to maximize uptime.
• We resolve LAN, WAN, VPN, and firewall problems end to end.
• We investigate network faults and determine root causes.
• We keep network devices updated with the latest firmware releases.
• We report network status and findings to key stakeholders.
• We work independently as well as with guidance from the team.
• We maintain strong documentation and operate within an ITSM environment.
