QA Automation Engineer

Requirements:

• 3–4+ years of hands-on QA automation experience preferred
• Strong practical experience with API automation, especially REST APIs
• Knowledge of Core Java, including Java Collections and fundamental programming concepts
• Experience with Selenium for UI automation
• Experience with BDD frameworks; hands-on Cucumber experience required
• Ability to apply technical concepts to practical, scenario-based testing challenges
• Experience writing basic SQL queries
• Experience with MongoDB or another NoSQL database
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and Jira
• Desired: SOAP API testing or automation, Quality Center/ALM, ALM Octane, Kafka, Redis or MQ/messaging systems, and generative AI or AI-assisted development and testing tools

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test solutions
• Use existing automation frameworks and help enhance them
• Develop and maintain API automation, primarily for REST APIs, and UI automation using Selenium and Java
• Create and maintain BDD-based automation with Cucumber
• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and business-as-usual testing
• Validate data in SQL and NoSQL databases, write SQL queries, and retrieve, parse, and validate MongoDB documents
• Support testing of messaging and integration technologies, including reviewing messages in queue-based systems
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, business partners, and technology teams
• Troubleshoot automation failures and identify potential defects
• Participate in Agile development and testing processes
• Track requirements, defects, and test information in Jira and related tools
• Identify ways to improve testing efficiency through automation and emerging technologies

The role supports ongoing business-as-usual testing and project initiatives, with work weighted approximately 70% toward API automation and 30% toward UI automation. The pay range is $49.37–$57.37 per hour, and candidates must be available to work directly as Genesis10 employees.
