Senior AI Systems Engineer (RAG)

Requirements:

• Strong software engineering background, with hands-on experience building and maintaining production AI systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in RAG, information retrieval, semantic search, or LLM context engineering.
• Experience designing and operating production retrieval or context-management systems used by real customers.
• Deep knowledge of document chunking, embedding strategies, vector search, hybrid retrieval, indexing, and reranking.
• Strong understanding of LLM behavior, including context-window limits, information ordering, token management, and grounding.
• Ability to evaluate and balance quality, latency, scalability, and infrastructure costs.
• Understanding of document-level authorization, data isolation, and secure information retrieval.

Responsibilities:

• Design and improve RAG pipelines for complex AI applications, including retrieval strategies, document ingestion, indexing, and search across large datasets.
• Develop context-assembly approaches that determine which information is provided to LLMs and how it is organized.
• Optimize context selection, ordering, compression, and token use to improve model responses.
• Build repeatable evaluation pipelines to assess retrieval relevance, answer quality, factual grounding, and system performance.
• Establish benchmarks and datasets to detect regressions and guide technical improvements.
• Engineer secure, production-ready retrieval systems that provide accurate, traceable information grounded in source materials.
• Take technical ownership of systems that identify and retrieve relevant information and prepare it for downstream language models.
