Senior Back End Developer - Java

Requirements:

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 8+ years of hands-on full-stack software development experience
• Strong experience developing RESTful APIs with Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented principles and design patterns
• Proficiency building single-page applications with Angular, HTML, TypeScript, and CSS
• Experience developing applications using TDD practices, including unit and behavior/feature testing
• Experience writing unit, integration, and automation tests
• Skills in application performance evaluation and tuning
• Experience with responsive web design and building accessible web applications in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines
• Understanding of Agile software development principles and experience participating in a Scrum-based delivery team
• Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools such as GitHub and GitActions
• Relational database experience with MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
• Understanding of cloud-native enterprise applications deployed in PCF, AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Exceptional interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
• Preferred: experience building nonfunctional frameworks or libraries
• Preferred: experience building REST-based APIs and using messaging and streaming technologies
• Preferred: Wealth Management and/or Financial Services industry experience
• Preferred: ability to quickly learn and become proficient with new technologies

Responsibilities:

• Follow the technical lead and implement stories, collaborating with partners to deliver single-page applications, RESTful APIs, and shared frameworks and libraries for data quality, data observability, and data transformation across Wealth Management Engineering applications
• Design, develop, test, and support software solutions
• Recommend and apply software development best practices as a development partner to scrum team members
• Build the services and features required for assigned stories
• Proactively detect, troubleshoot, and remediate issues affecting production applications
• Communicate clearly and promptly with affected parties during investigations and resolution of individual or system-wide outages
• Work with development teams at appropriate stages to ensure support strategy guidelines are followed and new systems and projects meet production standards
• Keep the knowledge repository current and make information about support activities and issues readily accessible
