Senior Business Analyst

Requirements:

• Must be located in Texas; the role may require attending meetings in Austin.
• 8 years of experience eliciting requirements through customer interviews and producing well-written system requirements.
• 8 years of experience with software development life cycles (SDLCs).
• 8 years of experience in business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement.
• 8 years of experience developing user stories and use cases that follow business analysis best practices.
• 8 years of experience designing mockups and/or wireframes in line with UX best practices.
• Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Demonstrated strong writing and organizational skills.
• 4 years of documented work experience with Atlassian Jira issue-tracking software.
• 4 years of documented experience working for or closely with a federal, state, or local education agency, or an education vendor.
• Preferred: 3 years of documented work experience with Modern Requirements requirements management software.
• Preferred: 2 years of experience supporting complaint and case management workflows, including intake, investigation, and resolution.
• Preferred: 2 years of experience with educator certification processes, federal or state grant programs, or state funding programs.

Responsibilities:

• Elicit requirements through methods such as JAD sessions, workshops, interviews, document analysis, storyboards, surveys, site visits, use cases, scenarios, competitive product analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
• Apply advanced analysis techniques to identify user needs, business processes, pain points, and system capabilities that can automate or improve existing systems.
• Convert elicitation findings into business and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, and software requirements specifications using standard templates and clear, concise language.
• Create visual deliverables from elicitation findings, including process flows, context diagrams, UML diagrams, wireframes, and mockups.
• Participate proactively and independently in the software development life cycle, managing deadlines, following change-control procedures, tracking requirement status, coordinating user acceptance testing, and maintaining requirements traceability.
• Manage requirements specifications and verify that requirements are fulfilled after the requirements baseline is established, including through post-implementation enhancements.
