Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Private Cloud & Virtualization

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• 5–7 years of experience
• Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Basic mentoring skills, including providing support and constructive performance feedback
• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, from business and systems analysis through requirements gathering, functional specifications, development, testing, and delivery
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes to resolve them
• Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, computer hardware, and software
• Knowledge of computer development software for systems, such as SQL and Visual Basic
• Experience with VMware or a similar stack, including VCF, vSphere, VCSA, vSAN, SRM, vROPS, Log Insight, and vRA
• Knowledge of private cloud and virtualization, including Kubernetes, on-premises environments, and cloud bursting
• Familiarity with services and protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, FTP/SFTP, SMTP, SMB, DHCP, SSH, SNMP, and APIs
• Experience with telemetry tools such as Dynatrace, VMware Log Insight, and VMware vROPS
• Scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, or Python
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Packer, and Git
• Knowledge of Ubuntu (22, 24, or 26), RHEL (8, 9, or 10), and Windows Server/Core (2019, 2022, or 2025)
• Familiarity with HP ProLiant hardware and SAN/NAS storage

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and evaluate software and systems, including operating-systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software
• Modify existing databases and database management systems
• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions, specify database identifiers for management systems, or direct others in coding those descriptions
• Collaborate with project teams on database development and establish project scope and limitations
• Review requests describing database user needs and estimate the time and cost required to complete the work
• Exercise independent judgment while working under a supervisors direction

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer specializing in private cloud and virtualization for a 12+ month contract with potential for extension. The position is based in Fort Worth, Texas, with a hybrid schedule requiring three days onsite each week. The pay range is $40–$44 per hour on W-2. Compensation is determined by factors such as role scope, complexity, location, market labor costs, and the candidates skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.
