Senior Java Backend Engineer - Cincinnati

Requirements:

• Technical degree or equivalent relevant work experience
• 5+ years of experience in backend engineering or a similar role
• Proficiency in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot for backend microservices
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture
• Experience using AWS services to build and operate cloud-native applications
• Knowledge of Backbase APIs and API management concepts
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously at a senior level
• Preferred: experience in banking, payments, or money movement
• Preferred: familiarity with Agile or Scrum delivery practices

Responsibilities:

• Design application code and implement technical solutions across environments to meet business needs
• Develop applications that address analytical and transactional problems
• Carry out software engineering phases, including requirements analysis, design, development, and testing
• Create product features, reusable components, frameworks, and libraries in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders
• Work with strategic customers to containerize applications using modern methodologies
• Establish best practices for containerizing and modernizing varied application platforms
• Code, test, release, and support backend services and data integrations
• Design software solutions for complex engineering challenges
• Automate build, test, and deployment processes
