Requirements:
- Masters degree and 5+ years of experience, bachelors degree and 7+ years, or 13+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Senior-level Java and Spring Boot development, including microservices and RESTful APIs
- Hands-on experience integrating and supporting LLM or agentic AI components in enterprise applications, including RAG, vector search, agent orchestration, evaluation, and guardrails
- Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency, multithreaded Java systems
- Cloud-native AWS development, including S3, with PostgreSQL; experience with MongoDB and SQL
- CI/CD experience with Jenkins, Git/Bitbucket, Maven, Nexus, and SonarQube
- Automated testing with JUnit and mocking frameworks; experience with TDD and BDD using Cucumber
- Strong knowledge of the Spring Framework, including IoC, MVC, Security, Transactions, and Batch, as well as JPA/Hibernate and Spring JDBC
- Experience remediating SonarQube findings and web application security vulnerabilities
- Agile delivery experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Preferred: track record identifying opportunities to improve or redesign existing system architectures with AI
- Preferred: experience producing technical white papers and system design documents
- Preferred: federal or state government IT experience
- Preferred: exposure to SOAP web services (JAX-WS, WSDL), DB2, or Tomcat
Responsibilities:
- Design and build Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs based on Twelve-Factor principles
- Integrate LLM and agentic AI components, including retrieval-augmented generation, vector search, agent orchestration, evaluation, and guardrails
- Develop deployment and monitoring pipelines to support reliable AI-enabled services
- Architect high-throughput, low-latency services on AWS using PostgreSQL
- Support existing SOAP-based integrations where needed
- Write thorough unit tests using JUnit and Mockito
- Participate in customer design and technical discussions
- Recommend practical architectural improvements
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers
