Senior Lead Backend Engineer PHP / Adobe Commerce

Requirements:

• 6+ years of backend development experience
• Strong PHP and Adobe Commerce/Magento 2 expertise
• Deep experience with Magento APIs, GraphQL resolvers, modules, services, plugins, observers, cron jobs, and message-queue consumers
• Strong experience building REST/GraphQL APIs and service layers
• Experience integrating with catalog, pricing, inventory, promotions, customer/identity, PIM, ERP, and OMS platforms
• Strong event-driven architecture and messaging experience, preferably with RabbitMQ or similar asynchronous messaging platforms
• Experience with AWS or other cloud-native services, caching, databases, queues, observability, and distributed-system troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of Magento performance, including indexing, database load, caching, asynchronous processing, and high-volume catalog and order workloads
• Experience building middleware and adapters for phased commerce migrations
• Strong automated testing, CI/CD, code review, debugging, and production support experience
• Ability to serve as a hands-on technical lead, mentor engineers, and partner with an Architect

Responsibilities:

• Build and extend Magento APIs, GraphQL resolvers, modules, services, plugins, observers, cron jobs, and message-queue consumers
• Develop REST/GraphQL APIs and service layers that decouple frontend applications from Magento and other backend systems
• Integrate commerce systems with catalog, pricing, inventory, promotions, customer/identity, PIM, ERP, and OMS platforms
• Implement and support event-driven architecture and messaging with RabbitMQ or similar asynchronous platforms
• Work with AWS and cloud-native services, caching, databases, queues, and observability tools, and troubleshoot distributed systems
• Address Magento performance needs, including indexing, database load, caching, asynchronous processing, and high-volume catalog and order workloads
• Build middleware and adapters to map new commerce services to existing Magento GraphQL/API contracts during phased migrations
• Perform automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, debugging, and production support
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentor engineers
• Partner with the Architect on implementation decisions
