Senior Production Support Engineer

Requirements:

• 6–8 years of Java production support experience at the L2/L3 level.
• Strong Java skills, including Spring Boot, microservices, and REST API development and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Golang; Python and Shell/Bash scripting skills are also listed.
• Experience with databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• AWS experience, including EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM.
• Monitoring and logging experience with Datadog and the clients monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, Maven, ArgoCD, Tekton, Helm, and Kafka.
• Production support knowledge covering incident, problem, change, and release management; root cause analysis; ticket handling in ServiceNow or Jira; SLA and KPI monitoring; and major incident coordination.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, ownership, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to coordinate with stakeholders and multiple teams in a fast-paced production environment.
• Preferred: experience supporting microservices and AWS cloud-native applications; knowledge of SRE and observability; and experience in healthcare, insurance, or enterprise environments.
• Nice to have: HashiCorp Vault, Istio Service Mesh, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes administration, or AI and automation for operational support.

Responsibilities:

• Provide L2/L3 production support for Java- and Golang-based applications.
• Monitor application health, performance, and availability across cloud and containerized environments.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents within SLA timelines, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Troubleshoot application, middleware, database, and infrastructure issues, using logs and metrics to identify problems.
• Support production releases, deployments, and change management activities.
• Coordinate incident response with Development, QA, Infrastructure, SRE, and Business teams.
• Participate in on-call coverage and major incident management.
• Automate recurring support activities with scripts and tools.
• Maintain compliance with operational and security standards.
• Drive production defect resolution and cross-team action plans through to completion, taking production leadership and end-to-end operational ownership.
