Senior SQL Developer

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, or database administration
• Insurance industry experience preferred
• Advanced SQL skills, including authoring queries and working with relational databases; familiarity with a variety of databases
• Solid understanding of data warehouse, data lake, and data modeling concepts
• Experience optimizing SQL queries and database performance
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
• BA/BS degree; a degree in data, computer science, or a related field is preferred

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT processes for data integration
• Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements
• Independently deliver assigned projects that support business initiatives within agile teams
• Maintain data quality and consistency by identifying and resolving data integrity issues
• Implement and monitor data governance, security, and compliance policies
• Tune SQL queries and database structures for improved performance
• Automate data workflows and enhance monitoring and alerting
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data pipeline and infrastructure issues
• Document and standardize data engineering best practices
• Improve our Enterprise Data Warehouse, build new business data marts, and refine ETL/ELT processes, with a focus on data governance, performance tuning, and automation
