Senior UX/UI Developer – AI Applications

Requirements:

• Extensive professional experience in both UI/UX design and hands-on front-end development.
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, Tailwind CSS, and vanilla JavaScript.
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering production-ready web applications.
• Experience developing interfaces for server-rendered web applications and template-based component systems.
• Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, usability principles, and interaction design.
• Experience creating reusable components, design systems, and style guides.
• Proficiency with Git, code review workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• A portfolio demonstrating both design expertise and practical front-end implementation.
• Ability to work full-time from day one.
• Preferred: Experience with AI-enabled applications, generative AI products, or LLM-powered workflows.
• Preferred: Familiarity with HTMX, Datastar, or other hypermedia and server-driven UI frameworks.
• Preferred: Experience with server-sent events and reactive user interfaces.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Azure DevOps and automated deployment workflows.
• Preferred: Experience with front-end testing, WCAG accessibility validation, and cross-browser debugging.
• Preferred: Experience building document-intensive applications, enterprise dashboards, or complex review interfaces.
• Must currently be based in the New York City area and have relevant local project experience.
• Must be able to work onsite in New York City three days per week; relocation is not available.

Responsibilities:

• Design intuitive, visually compelling, responsive interfaces for AI-enabled applications.
• Turn product requirements and user needs into effective UI/UX solutions.
• Conduct user research, gather feedback, and improve user experiences over time.
• Build production-ready front-end interfaces using HTML, Tailwind CSS, and vanilla JavaScript.
• Create reusable UI components, interaction patterns, and shared component libraries.
• Design workflows for AI-generated findings, source citations, document review, approval checkpoints, and long-running processes.
• Maintain consistent design systems and visual standards across applications.
• Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Integrate front-end code into existing applications, following established Git, code review, and CI/CD practices.
• Ensure accessibility, usability, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive behavior.
• Optimize interfaces for performance, maintainability, and scalability.

In this hybrid design-and-build role, you will turn complex product requirements into polished, intuitive experiences and implement them with production-ready code. Our work includes AI-powered legal technology, such as document review, source-linked findings, high-density data tables, approval workflows, and document management. The stack emphasizes lightweight, server-rendered web applications using HTML, Tailwind CSS, vanilla JavaScript, and modern hypermedia frameworks such as HTMX or Datastar. This is a full-time, senior-level position based in New York City, with three onsite days each week.
