Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Requirements:

• Experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET).
• Able to understand and clearly explain the reasoning behind testing approaches, rather than simply following instructions.
• Familiarity with test automation tools such as Playwright and TypeScript, or other enterprise-approved tools.
• Experience or capability in UI and API testing, including REST and SOAP APIs, and end-to-end testing.
• Ability to write SQL queries for data validation and test data support.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with Agile feature teams to understand user stories, define acceptance criteria, and encourage a test-first mindset during design and refinement.
• Build, maintain, and evolve scalable test automation frameworks for UI and API testing.
• Help transition legacy frameworks, such as Selenium with Java and Postman/Newman, to unified automation aligned with our CI/CD strategy.
• Work with developers and QA engineers to run tests in CI pipelines and deliver timely, actionable feedback.
• Design test cases, conduct exploratory testing, and validate complex workflows that are not yet automated.
• Develop and maintain automated API and end-to-end tests covering functional and non-functional requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and help shape test architecture to make test assets reliable, reusable, and scalable.
• Write and maintain SQL queries to validate data integrity and support test data creation.
• Champion quality engineering by guiding automation strategy, mentoring peers, and improving QA practices.
• Maintain traceability among requirements, tests, and defects, and support enterprise policies, including HIPAA, security, and audit readiness.
• Assist feature teams with manual testing when needed, including test case creation and documentation, exploratory testing, and quality validation.
