Software Engineer in Test

Requirements:

• At least 4 years of software test automation experience, including object-oriented development, relational databases, and SQL queries or stored procedures.
• Web development programming experience, with demonstrated coding skills above Software Engineer I expectations.
• Experience designing and developing relational databases with MySQL or Microsoft SQL, including queries and stored procedures.
• Experience with object-oriented analysis and development in large enterprise applications.
• Experience with XSLT, XML, JSON, HTTP, C#, and SQL.
• Knowledge of software design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver or web services and APIs; experience developing and consuming web services is preferred.
• Experience mentoring automation engineers.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, logical, interpersonal, listening, and communication skills, including written and oral communication.
• Ability to work through tasks in a fast-paced development cycle and design and architect complex enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum software development life cycles.
• Core competencies include respectful interaction, customer service, organization, time management, accuracy, productivity in changing environments, and strict confidentiality.
• Bachelors degree in an IT, computer, or technical field, or equivalent experience. A high school diploma is required for candidates qualifying through equivalent experience.
• Willingness and ability to work on a W-2 basis.
• Reliable internet connectivity suitable for video collaboration while working remotely.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot software applications and test tools.
• Build knowledge of operations, assigned applications, internal customer areas, standards, techniques, and relevant business processes.
• Complete routine automation assignments with minimal supervision.
• Apply departmental procedures, programming standards, training materials, and methodologies.
• Design and develop white-box application tests.
• Provide accurate time estimates for assigned tasks and projects.
• Recommend application improvements, conduct code reviews, and refactor legacy components as needed.
• Work independently and mentor or help train other engineers as directed.
• Communicate directly with product owners and end users.
• Analyze alternatives and provide cost-benefit comparisons.
• Monitor automated processes, ensure they run as expected, and carry out remediation when needed.

The salary range is $89,300–$118,000 per year on a W-2 basis.
