Sr. Database Developer

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• At least 7 years of IT experience as an Application Database Developer
• Proficiency with Oracle and SQL, plus knowledge of Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL database technologies
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts, with problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Exposure to cloud databases such as AWS RDS or Azure
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
• Leadership, organization, and planning skills, including the ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize stored procedures, functions, triggers, packages, and other database objects
• Collaborate with application developers, database administrators, and business stakeholders
• Deliver database solutions that improve application performance, enable efficient data access, and support enterprise reliability
• Review database object performance to address customer needs
• Identify and lead improvements across our database portfolio
• Resolve complex issues through root-cause analysis and assessment of potential solutions
• Investigate slow queries and identify bottlenecks using execution plans
• Recommend and implement indexing strategies, and analyze data-related performance issues
• Promote Oracle and SQL development standards and secure coding practices
• Maintain documentation for database schemas, business logic, and workflows
• Participate in code reviews and mentor application developers as needed
• Work with onshore and offshore third-party support and application support teams to guide them in ongoing support of database development technologies
