Sr Front-End Engineer

Requirements:

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, with substantial front-end web development expertise; experience leading projects and mentoring engineers.
• Expert proficiency in React, including hooks, component composition, context, rendering behavior, and applicable concurrency patterns.
• Strong TypeScript skills, including type-driven design, generics, and strictness strategies, along with modern JavaScript fundamentals.
• Strong Java and Spring skills for developing microservices and GraphQL/REST API contracts using front-end-friendly patterns such as pagination, filtering, and error models.
• Deep experience with modern front-end tooling, such as Vite or Webpack, Babel or SWC, npm, pnpm, or yarn; monorepo experience is optional.
• Advanced testing expertise with tools such as Jest or Vitest, React Testing Library, and Playwright or Cypress for end-to-end testing; ability to own test strategy.
• Accessibility expertise, including WCAG/ARIA, keyboard navigation, screen-reader considerations, and automated and manual accessibility testing.
• Performance engineering experience, including profiling, bundle splitting, SSR/CSR trade-offs, caching, and Core Web Vitals optimization.
• Expertise integrating GraphQL and REST APIs, including schema-driven development, error handling, pagination, caching, and client-state strategies.
• Web application security awareness, including XSS/CSRF prevention, dependency hygiene, and secure authentication and session patterns; OIDC awareness is a plus.
• Experience with front-end observability, including client-side logging and metrics, error reporting, and production debugging.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot to accelerate implementation, refactoring, test creation, and debugging while validating correctness and following secure handling practices.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of complex, user-facing web applications using React, including ownership of front-end architecture and delivery approach.

• Establish and evolve front-end standards for component architecture, state management, routing, code conventions, and testing practices.
• Improve performance and quality through Core Web Vitals work, bundle optimization, rendering strategies, caching, and runtime observability.
• Build advanced UI capabilities, including rich data visualizations, real-time updates, offline-friendly patterns, and robust forms and workflows.
• Apply secure client-side patterns, including guidance on authentication flows and token handling, secure storage, and protection against common web vulnerabilities.
• Use AI-assisted tools to support implementation, refactoring, test creation, and debugging, while checking results for correctness and secure handling.
