Sr. Performance Engineer

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years of performance testing and engineering experience, with a track record of identifying and resolving issues in complex systems
• Proficiency with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Azure Load Testing, Dynatrace, LoadRunner, Gatling, or similar
• Strong understanding of performance metrics, including response time, throughput, and latency
• Experience using programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, or C# for test automation and performance scripting
• Knowledge of system architecture, including web servers, databases, and network infrastructure, and their effects on performance
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose performance issues and provide data-driven recommendations
• Ability to work effectively with development, operations, and QA teams
• Proficiency in preparing and presenting performance test reports to stakeholders
• Familiarity with Agile practices and experience integrating performance testing into Agile sprints

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and run performance tests to assess system performance, scalability, and reliability under varied conditions
• Work with stakeholders to define performance testing requirements and objectives based on application and system specifications
• Analyze test results, identify bottlenecks, and recommend practical improvements
• Partner with development and operations teams to optimize applications by tuning code, configurations, and infrastructure
• Use performance testing tools to create and run tests, and evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to improve testing processes
• Prepare detailed performance reports and present findings, trends, and opportunities for improvement to stakeholders
• Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and system administrators to understand system architecture and incorporate performance testing into development and release cycles
• Keep current with industry trends and best practices, and help improve performance testing strategies and processes
• Perform other duties as assigned
