Systems Engineer - R - Huntsville

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Preferred degree from an ABET accredited institution
• Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in systems engineering and integration, or related fields
• Proven ability to thrive in a self-directed and dynamic work environment
• Strong expertise in developing systems requirements and verification strategies
• Familiarity with Systems Engineering policies and verification compliance tools
• Demonstrated experience in cross-organizational collaboration and systems integration
• Excellent skills in delivering executive-level briefings and customer relations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Experience with Digital Engineering tools like DOORS Next Generation, Jira, and MagicDraw

Responsibilities:

• Provide planning support for Design Certification Review (DCR) to the MSFC Systems Design and Verification Branch
• Ensure all documentation and certification packages meet compliance with NASA standards
• Facilitate technical integration with EUS engineering disciplines and contractors
• Define DCR success criteria, entrance/exit criteria, and prepare agendas for DCR board meetings
• Create and maintain the DCR schedule, including major milestones and review dates
• Address open items from previous reviews and manage follow-ups
• Organize and facilitate the EUS DCR Data Package development
• Update verification and validation matrices demonstrating system requirements testing
• Compile hazard report reviews ensuring safety protocols are maintained
• Document technical justifications for requirement exceptions and deviations
• Conduct reviews of design documents for completeness and adherence to standards
• Evaluate technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies for DCR discussions
• Compile documentation for subsystem interfaces as applicable
