Virtual Systems Engineer

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent in computer science, mathematics, or an engineering discipline; this is an entry-level position, and no prior work experience is required.

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain components of a virtual system.
• Troubleshoot, resolve, and document virtual system problems in accordance with approved procedures.
• Verify proper system operation and optimize the virtual environment and load-cycling process.
• Review, correct, and develop scripts in Bash, PowerShell, and Python to automate system load cycling, configuration, and routine tasks.
• Contribute to and review documentation for the assigned area, and write new procedures as needed for review.
• Develop tools that improve visibility into virtual system operation and performance, as well as virtual system provisioning.
• Provide startup and shutdown support for development and deployed systems.
• Support virtual system delivery, installation, configuration, and light-off.
• Report status at internal and customer meetings.
• Apply interdisciplinary engineering skills to technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, and cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses.
• Analyze systems across their lifecycle, from concept and design through fabrication, testing, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
• Translate customer or product requirements into systems solutions and technical specifications while accounting for technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Perform functional and timeline analyses, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.
