Field Application Engineer

Requirements:

• Physical security experience is required.
• A bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, network engineering, information systems, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 4 years of customer-facing pre-sales experience, preferably in network video or physical security.
• A security product certification, such as Hanwha WAVE, Genetec, or Milestone, is preferred.
• Strong technical aptitude and the ability to explain complex solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with system design, product testing, and proof-of-concept development for complex systems.
• Ability to occasionally lift 20–40 pounds, climb and remain on ladders or lifts for extended periods, and work comfortably at heights.

Responsibilities:

• Lead territory pre-sales technical activities and partner with sales teams to support end-user opportunities.
• Design systems, including conducting site surveys; determining equipment placement and area coverage; calculating bandwidth and storage needs; preparing bills of materials and schematic drawings; and integrating third-party products.
• Act as a first-line technical resource for key accounts and demonstrate our video products to integrators, consultants, engineers, and end users.
• Deliver product and solution training, including technician guidance on best practices, and present to customers and other stakeholders.
• Review specifications and requests for proposals, explain our system tools and device managers, and prepare competitive-equivalent bills of materials.
• Collaborate across departments to meet performance goals and customer needs.
• Help resolve technical escalations and special customer requests, and share product- and system-related feedback with our technical support team.
• Represent us at industry trade shows and events as needed.
• Provide weekly sales activity updates and identify opportunities for improvement.
